AUDITIONS
AUDITIONS for the award-winning Rhode Island Children's Chorus will be held in person this season. All students who enjoy singing and will be in grades 2 through 12 as of September 2023 are encouraged to audition for our 21st season. (Mature first graders with excellent reading ability may audition). Singers will meet individually with Dr. Christine Noel, who will guide them through vocal exercises to evaluate range, ability to match pitch, and overall maturity. Dr. Noel will sing quietly with younger children, if necessary and parents are welcome to observe the audition. They will be asked to sing a simple song (ex. "Happy Birthday," “My Country ‘Tis of Thee), or another song of their choosing. High school students should plan a more challenging song (a choral piece or a musical theater selection is fine). We understand that some students may be shy, but this will be a very positive and encouraging experience.
The audition will take about 3 minutes. Please note that there are limited openings for some of our classes.
